Mr. President...You Talk Too Much!

You've got a big mouth.

In sooth, thy dank cavernous tooth-hole consumes all truth and reason!

Mr. President, I do believe the following is applicable to you! Before you were elected to office (may that day be forever condemned in history) you were talking way too much! And now that you are in office, it is a non-stop diatribe…rhetoric, everywhere you go. And, you make-up places to go just so you can talk some more! After hearing your running diatribe, I thought of an old Joe Jones song, “You Talk Too Much.” Here are the lyrics to that timeless poem/song that fits you so well!

JOE JONES lyrics - You Talk Too Much

(Joe Jones and Reginald Hall)

You talk too much

You worry me to death

You talk too much

You even worry my pet

You just talk

Talk too much

You talk about people

That you don't know

You talk about people

Wherever you go

You just talk

Talk too much

You talk about people

That you've never seen

You talk about people

You can make me scream

You just talk

you talk too much

You talk too much

You worry me to death

You talk too much

You even worry my pet

You just talk

Talk too much

You talk about people

That you don't know

You talk about people

Wherever you go

You just talk

Talk too much

You talk about people

That you've never seen

You talk about people

You can make me scream

Now, let’s get to the root of the loquacious problem that you continue to feed, narcissism! You are one of the most narcissistic people on the face of the planet today! You love the sound of your own voice! Your prolix actions depict that of a girly man! Your mommy et al, allowed you to talk and focus on yourself way too much! The reason you can’t “man up” and be quiet, is that you never had a real man around you to tell you to…just shut up and be quiet! Real men don’t talk all the time like you do! Real men make their words count and keep them few in number. Here is the definition of your mental problems, ‘Compensatory Narcissistic Personality Disorder!’

Compensatory Narcissistic Personality Disorder as a pervasive pattern of unstable, "overtly narcissistic behaviors [that] derive from an underlying sense of insecurity and weakness rather than from genuine feelings of self-confidence and high self-esteem" (Millon, 1996), beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by ten (or more) of the following: Taken from: http://www.ptypes.com/compensatory-narpd.html

• seeks to create an illusion of superiority and to build up an image of high self-worth (Millon, 1996);

• has disturbances in the capacity for empathy (Forman, 1976);

• strives for recognition and prestige to compensate for the lack of a feeling of self-worth;

• may acquire a deprecatory attitude in which the achievements of others are ridiculed and degraded (Millon);

• has persistent aspirations for glory and status (Millon);

• has a tendency to exaggerate and boast (Millon);

• is sensitive to how others react to him or her, watches and listens carefully for critical judgment, and feels slighted by disapproval (Millon);

• is prone to feel shamed and humiliated and especially hyper-anxious and vulnerable to the judgments of others (Millon);

• covers up a sense of inadequacy and deficiency with pseudo-arrogance and pseudo-grandiosity (Millon);

• has a tendency to periodic hypochondria (Forman);

• alternates between feelings of emptiness and deadness and states of excitement and excess energy (Forman);

• entertains fantasies of greatness, constantly striving for perfection, genius, or stardom (Forman);

• has a history of searching for an idealized partner and has an intense need for affirmation and confirmation in relationships (Forman);

• frequently entertains a wishful, exaggerated, and unrealistic concept of himself or herself which he or she can't possibly measure up to (Reich);

• produces (too quickly) work not up to the level of his or her abilities because of an overwhelmingly strong need for the immediate gratification of success (Reich);

• is touchy, quick to take offense at the slightest provocation, continually anticipating attack and danger, reacting with anger and fantasies of revenge when he or she feels frustrated in his or her need for constant admiration (Reich);

• is self-conscious, due to a dependence on approval from others (Reich);

• suffers regularly from repetitive oscillations of self-esteem (Reich);

• seeks to undo feelings of inadequacy by forcing everyone's attention and admiration upon himself or herself (Reich);

• may react with self-contempt and depression to the lack of fulfillment of his or her grandiose expectations (Riso).

High Extraversion:

• Excessive talking, leading to inappropriate self-disclosure and social friction; inability to spend time alone; attention seeking and overly dramatic expression of emotions; reckless excitement seeking; inappropriate attempts to dominate and control others.

"Delophilia: ["exhibitionism"] can be defined as the desire to express oneself and to fascinate others by one's self-exposure, to show and to impress, to merge with the other through communication" (Wurmser, pg. 158). With the delophilic drive "the subject basically wants to overpower the object by the magic force of his expressions, of his looking, talking, and thinking; he wants to fascinate, charm, mesmerize, magnetize, subjugate the other and merge with him" ( Id pg. 165).

What others are saying…”Your incessant chatter, endless rhetoric, nonstop nattering, constant conversing, and limitless lecturing has become so predictable and pedantic that well… we’re mostly ignoring it. What you don’t seem to understand, but which astute observers know all too well, is that you’re a one trick pony and that no one really cares very much what you have to say.” "The Truth in Black and White" http://theblackcommenter.wordpress.com/2009/09/10/you-talk-too-much/

 Mr. President, after reading all of the aforementioned, I would posit that you need some serious help. You are so defined within that diagnosis! And one of the first steps you need to take on your path to wellness is to… JUST SHUT UP AWHILE!
