Will Rodgers, (bless his pea picking heart) once said he never met a man he didn’t like. Well and good for him! But! He never met some of the people that I have, or he just might change his mind. I have made contact with some of society’s best and also some of society’s worst. And this has given me very special insight into the true character of the human race. You just have to see humans at their best and at their worst to accumulate any viable sense of the true human condition.
Not every human being is good, and neither is every human being bad. However, many resist the innate good that is intrinsic to every human being. The thoughtful Creator (providing you believe in one) has designed the human being to be the superior in His earthly creation. The problem humans have with this is; the reluctance to do the designed good. Instead, they have a predilection to do just the opposite at times. The temptations of society are many, and they are compelling. The magnetic draw towards evil is in many cases, non-resistible. They just want to do bad things.
Now, to my point! Did you ever meet or see someone that you immediately disliked? I have! And on many occasions I have personally disliked someone from the start. Perhaps my cautionary upbringing sharpened my instincts! Perhaps monitory vigilance is also innate within the human to proceed with caution sometimes? Did you ever have an animal with instincts so sharp, that fooling them was impossible? I have had several such animals. Specifically a Collie! This animal always knew the difference between good and evil people. He was amazing! I observed this animal’s behavior when anyone came around. I wanted to see if our instincts were the same. And most of the time they were! His were always superior because of the heightened senses he possessed.
Watching the news recently, focused my attention on an individual that I just don’t like. I remember when this individual became prominent after the retirement of an individual he was supposed to replace. The Senator he was voted in to replace was a solid conservative individual. And, in my educated opinion, he couldn’t carry water for the person he replaced. I saw this new Senator as a very weak mealy mouthed person upon first blush. I just didn’t like him at all. And? My senses were and still are right about him. He should go back where he came from and try for county dog catcher; it would be at his talent level. (No offence to anyone that does this for a living!) He has just ascended above his upbringing!
What makes an individual great? Money? Breeding? Intelligence? No! Some of society’s best were neither rich nor were they from a pedigreed background. Some of society’s greatest success stories deal with individuals that never finished school, or even went to one! Some of the greatest came from the poorest of poor backgrounds. Some even had everything stacked against them that would, or most certainly could, limit or impair their success you could ever imagine. But; they ascended above their surroundings, accepted the challenge, and soared to heights unimaginable! That innate indomitable spirit prevailed! But one thing you will usually find in common with good successful people is this; humility! They must possess humility! We must be humble and not arrogant because of any success we might find or be given!
And because of this lack of humility, I find some are just not worthy to occupy high positions of authority. One of these is Hillary Clinton. Another, the one that I am writing today about is; Senator Lindsey Graham. Does absolute power corrupt absolutely? It can! I just don’t like that guy!
